12: The World after the fall is awesome and you should read it
I've ready a lot of mahnwa. Some good, some... not so much (*cough* cryptocurrency revenge *cough*) But there's been one that's always stood out to me as being by far one of the best mahnwa I've ever read. 'The World after the fall'. Narratively, on paper at least, it sounds like the most insane, stupid power fantasy you've ever witnessed. Now, this is usually the part where I'd tell you that's totally wrong and go into detail how it's actually this incredibly deep, multi layered story but... Nope, that's exactly what it is. And it's really good at it. The World after the fall is mainly about one thing: Never giving up, no matter how dire the circumstances are. That is Jaehwan's one defining character trait. He survived alone for multiple years, fighting the most hellish monsters you could imagine, and never once gave up. Contrasting its rather bleak opening, the World after the fall is a mahnwa about hope, and about overcoming the odds through sheer willpower. And it does that in the most over the top, try-hard way possible. But it goes so far with the ridiculous power scaling and the insane feats that it somehow loops around and manages to become unironically the coolest shit you will ever read. It's like if one punch man took itself seriously, and somehow it's amazing. In TWATF, Jaehwan, the main character literally kills the ocean by just stabbing it really hard, and it's the most hype thing I have ever seen. Another one of Jaehwans feats includes literally stabbing so hard the world explodes and getting so good at stabbing he can see the fabric of reality.
And even though that sounds insane and completely over the top, the story makes it work.
Please, go and read the World after the fall. Seriously, do it.
Or else.
